Clicking Noise When You Try To Start Your Car

If you hear a clicking noise when you try to start your car, this can mean a number of things.

The most common (and likely) causes are:

  • Dead Battery — which means that your battery died, so it has to be either charged or replaced.
  • Loose Wiring — perhaps the wires that actually connect the battery to the wiring harness, and so deliver electricity throughout the vehicle, are loose. In which case they need to be tightened.
  • Faulty Starter Motor — which means that your car’s starter motor must be replaced.
