Goahti

A goahti is a tent made by the Sami people native to northern Europe. It is called by many names, depending mostly on the language.

Goahti (Northern Sami), goahte (Lule Sámi), gåhte (Pite Sámi), gåhtie (Ume Sámi) or gåetie (Southern Sámi), (also gábma), (Norwegian: gamme, Finnish: kota, Swedish: kåta). [1]

The goahti tent is usually made of three different types of covering: fabric, peat moss, or timber.

The fabric goahti looks very similar to Sami lavvu, but are usually built slightly larger. [1] (A lavvu is basically a fabric or skin covered tipi, I believe.)

In its tent version the goahti is also called a ‘curved-pole’ lavvu or a ‘bread-box’ lavvu, because the shape is more elongated when the lavvu is built in its circular shape. [1] (wtf)
