Master Time, Then Forget It

Master Time, Then Forget It. In our lives, time is important. Many believe that time is our most precious commodity. The older that I get, the more I tend to agree. Therefore it is essential for us to master time — using our time as efficiently, effectively, productively, and fully as we possible can — in order to ensure that we do not waste our time.

This means that at the beginning especially, we have to get very deep into time. Personally, I timed everything throughout the day. How long I worked for (and how much time exactly I spent on various parts of the work). I timed how long I trained for, how long my WOD, Cardio, Yoga, and Martial Arts practice was that day. How long my language study took.

I spent many years working this way. (I still do.) It is important that I have a clear idea of how my time is being used, and where my energy is going (including how effectively I am using that time). This is important at a certain phase because this is the data that you need to build and optimize your various processes well.

Yet at a later stage in the journey, time becomes irrelevant. It matters not how long we spend doing something, but the doing itself. The action becomes the meditation. The learning process.]

We know what our goal is. We have both short term and long term goals. We know what we are working on.
