Prehistory of East Asia
The Ancestors of the East Asians split from other human populations — essentially as they continued their migration toward the east — probably around 70–50 ka. [1]
The descendants of the Ancestral East Asians, are the modern East/Southeast Asians, Polynesians, Siberians, and Native Americans. [1]
They are believed to have expanded in multiple waves, radiating from Southern China northwards, and southwards. [1]
The accepted paradigm is that humans radiated from South China and radiated north and south, becoming the Siberians and Native Americans, in their northern migration, as well as the E/SE Chinese and Polynesians, respectively. [1]
