Vlasov Equation

The Vlasov Equation is a differential equation from Plasma Physics describing the time evolution of the distribution function of collisionless plasma consisting of charged particles with long-range interaction. [1]

(An example of a “long-range interaction” is the Coulomb interaction.)

The Vlasov Equation combined with the Landau kinetic equation describe collision plasma. [1] First suggested for description of plasma by Anatoly Vlasov in 1938 (and later discussed in detail in a monograph). [1]
