The Lost Story of Humanity
In the mists of prehistory, in the long ages of the world between the evolution of Man on Earth and when we first learned the art of writing in ancient Iraq around 3000 BCE, we have a period of around 300,000 years when little is known of our species.
We are not sure when we learned to speak, when we began crafting stories and artwork for the first time. Even now we are just beginning to learn of our intricate relationships with the several other species of human — our sibling species — on Earth during this time. We had children together, before they went extinct, for reasons we don’t yet know for sure. Genocide at our hands? Famine? Disease? The last ice age?
Yet when we did learn the art of writing, as history begins in Sumer, the oldest stories told that we have record of, all tell us incredible tales of long-forgotten times, advanced civilizations, and a history of events that are hard to believe. Nonetheless, many of their recollections have been confirmed by science, and by archaeology, forcing us to consider these ancient tales in a new light.
Unravelling the mystery of this early phase in our history is one of the most important questions that we can ask.
This is the Lost Story of Humanity.
