The Sumerians

The Sumerians were among the greatest, and most mysterious, of our ancient ancestors at the beginning of Ancient History. They developed the first cities, and single-handedly ushered us into the Historical Era with their invention of writing.

However, not just writing is credited to their name. The Sumerians also built the worlds first true cities, and some of the worlds first temples.
