[Part V] Resolve The Problems That You Face [Short]

All of these principles have helped me to resolve every obstacle that I have ever faced. (Almost, since there I have obstacles in front of me on every path I am walking.) The experience of this for me has been surprisingly mystical — almost magical.

Life has an incredible way of crushing us. Breaking us down. My experience is that I sprint along a path until I hit mud, at which point I slip, slide, and scramble as I try to pull my feet from the suction of the road arresting my forward movement.

Every once in a while, I am struck by a giant hammer swung by the gods above, that sends me careening over a cliff.

Once I finally hit the ground, I begin finding a way back to the path that I was on. Obviously this is a metaphor. Yet it perfectly describes my experience. I am broken (by people, by the path, by myself) and thrown off a cliff. Every time I have to rebuild myself internally — values, habits, approach, skills, plan, vision — trying to put myself back together stronger, so that I can make it further next time.

I have put myself back together so many times, that I am approaching mastery at this act that I never dreamed would be so important.

The magic of the experience is when everything clicks during the rebuilding phase: I return back to that inspired, passionate, driven, and focused state that I was ejected from before. All of these ideas (Resolve Your Mind Into Action, The Pillars of Resolving Yourself, Resolve Your Performance) are the actual things that I did to rebuild myself.

I knew that I couldn’t do the same thing that I did before, because it clearly only worked to a point. Each time I became increasingly cognizant of the fact that the pieces that I could not shift my attention away from, no matter how hard I tried, were the right pieces. They are the deepest part of my nature, but I had them arranged in such a way that there was no synergy or coherent expression between them.

At the end of the day, the solution to my problem every time was internal resolution: finding a way to channel myself more holistically. That’s all it is. My vision was perfect, but the plan was wrong, or my execution was all over the place because of inherent frenetic ADHD-energy in my schedule, systems, and processes too. There was always something wrong in one of the pillars, that formed a dam in the natural expression of what I am.

The river bent, and it was not the gods that swung the hammer, but myself — my own actions, choices, systems, and mindset.

Resolve the problems that you face internally, and the problems outside evaporate of their own accord … until you arrive at the next one 😉
